Ben Meadows

Ben Meadows  – Football

Ben, from Liverpool, has right sided hemiplegia. He is a very happy and easy going person, who works hard to keep himself physically fit to help with his disability.

Ben loves all sports but his passion is football and is the goalkeeper for the U16’s North West Regional Talent Centre hosted by CP United FC, where he has been in the programme since he was 11.  He has also had trials for England U19’s and also plays within LFC’s Ability Counts programme, EFC Pan Disability and more recently Walton FC (ran by Liverpool County FA).

At School Ben has completed a BTEC Level 2 and 3 in Sport Development.

He completed his Football Junior Leaders course as part of the futures programme that CP United provide and has since been an active member of helping with the foundation and tots sessions, as well as being a junior member of the committee at the club.

During the summer last year he was part of the Liverpool County FA’s Young Coaches Academy and actively helps out with sessions alongside Liverpool County FA.

Ben also has Football Coaching qualifications.

Ben’s commitment to sport as a player, young leader and coach is clear to see. He is an inspiration to all that he works with as a result of his positive attitude and have a go ethos.

Ben wants to use his role as Cerebral Palsy Sport Young Ambassador to continue to raise the profile of sport and activity opportunities for people of all ages with CP. He is keen to work alongside the other Young Ambassadors to showcase their individual stories and demonstrate what can be achieved.
