GRAND PRIX ATHLETICS SERIES
INCORPORATING
THE AVIVA PARALLEL SUCCESS U20 JUNIOR COMPETITION.

 

CP Sport will be hosting five Grand Prix competitions during 2012. The winning athletes will be presented with their respective prizes during the CP National Championships on Saturday 22nd September at Harvey Hadden Stadium, Nottingham.

UKA have once again been positive in providing financial support for 2012.

Athletes from other disability groups are warmly invited to participate at both senior and junior level at the discretion of CP Sport.

 

Entry fee:

CP Sport Senior Members

£15 per competition or £40 for the series

Junior Under 20 Aviva Parallel Success Competition

£10 per competition or £25 for the series

Non Members

Seniors £20 per competition or £55 for the series

Rules of Grand Prix Series

Athletes may compete in all 5 meetings, the best 3 individual performances will determine the overall winners in each category.

Cheques/payment should accompany the application form and be made payable to CP Sport.

Entry Forms must be received in the CP Sport Office 3 weeks before the competition. No late entries will be accepted under any circumstances.

Athletes' performances will be measured against personal best performances at the end of last season 2010 and must be entered on the application form.

Athletes achieving a new personal best during the season will carry the new PB to the next Grand Prix for measurement.

Confirmation of entry will be acknowledged by email or return of post, and a provisional timetable per Grand Prix will be sent out prior to the event.

Colin Rains Award

This Award is presented in memory of Colin Rains who passed away in 2009. He was dedicated to providing opportunities in sport for disabled people. He had a particular interest in track and field athletics. Colin passed on a wealth of knowledge to aspiring athletes, coaches and mentored individuals in organisational sporting roles. It is awarded to an athlete who portrays commitment and inspirational endeavour.

The recipient of this award for 2010 was:

Lucie Prosser

Lucie has attended every Grand Prix Competition and training day this year and trains regularly at her club. During the season she has shown a huge improvement in her performances. She shows a very positive attitude and has overcome many difficulties to achieve great results this season.
