Cerebral Palsy Sport gets into the swing for Table Cricket

Table Cricket Taster sessions have been delivered in Melton Mowbray over the past couple of weeks. Residents of Edgerton Lodge and Amwell Care homes and members of Mencap Melton and Age UK Melton all took part in Table Cricket start sessions to help raise awareness of the opportunities and benefits to play Table Cricket.

Over 50 participants aged between 16 and 100 played Table Cricket during the sessions and the feedback has been positive. Staff at the centres have said its great to see members within the groups all playing together and having fun.

There is interested in staff being trained to deliver Table Cricket sessions to their groups on a regular basis as well as hosting Table Cricket Festivals between the various groups.

Cerebral Palsy Sport are keen to plan a Table Cricket Activator Course in Melton for staff and volunteers from the groups that have taken part as well as open the opportunity to other Care homes and schools in the area that wish to deliver Table Cricket.

Anyone interested in finding out more about Table Cricket and the Activator training should get in touch with Rich Kerr ricard.kerr@cpsport.org
