3rd December 2019 is #GivingTuesday, a global day of giving. A day where everyone, everywhere can do something to support the good causes that mean so much to them.
You can volunteer your time; donate money; share your skills; campaign for something; organise a community event such as a coffee morning. The list really is endless.
It is a day to give back by supporting a cause close to your heart or doing something good for your local community or someone in need.
The campaign began in America in 2012, as a way to give back after the well known shopping days of Black Friday and Cyber Monday. It was brought to the UK in 2014 by the Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) with the key aim of encouraging people to think of others in the run up to Christmas. There are numerous ways to get involved through donating to charity, volunteering or simply helping a friend, neighbour or family member.
Cerebral Palsy Sport is the country’s leading national disability sports charity supporting people with cerebral palsy to reach their sporting potential and putting people with cerebral palsy and their families at the heart of everything we do.
There are many ways to support Cerebral Palsy Sport , through fundraising, donations and volunteering. Please find out more here: http://www.cpsport.org/support-us/
The #GivingTuesdayPledge will also help share stories of how people are supporting good causes on Giving Tuesday. You can share your pledge on social media on Giving Tuesday. By sharing your commitment, you can help inspire others to do something to support a good cause.
#GivingTuesday was the top trending item on UK Twitter, with the hashtag reaching people more than 600 million times. In the UK, more than £7.8 million was raised in online donations alone on the day itself . For more information about the global campaign visit: www.givingtuesday.org.uk
