Table Cricket Performance Group is going from strength to strength

Table Cricket Performance Group is going from strength to strength!

The summer of 2015 was a fantastic time for Table Cricket with the sport being given the opportunity to be showcased at the Nottingham 2015 CPISRA World Games where England took on Australia in a thrilling Ashes Series.

As part of the legacy of the games Cerebral Palsy Sport has set up a performance group to help support those players that want to develop their Table Cricket skills and abilities. The group meet four times a year and have specialist coaching from Team England’s coach, Dave Winter. It is a great opportunity for players that want to take their Table Cricket to the next level to meet up and train together.

After the first session Rachel Ward, our National Cricket Development Officer said “Its lovely to see players coming from all over the country to train and develop as players, these sessions give players the opportunity to meet other athletes with the same interest and allows them to go back to their local session and really become ambassadors of the sport.”

The Performance Group is not just for players, its also for coaches, both experienced and new. These four sessions a year give coaches an opportunity to swap ideas, learn new activities and keep up to date will any recent changes to the rules.

All sessions are free to attend and take place at Portland College, NG18 4TJ 10am-3pm. Remaining sessions are the 24th April 2016, 24th July 2016, 27th November 2016.
