Frame Football Development Day
The first frame football development day took place on Sunday the 8th July at St Georges Park. 38 Frame Footballers from 5 clubs across the country came together to take part in the Richard Seedhouse memorial cup in age groups 5-8’s, 9-12s, and 13-16 year old’s. The event was support by 10 team managers as well as 6 volunteers from the Frame Football Foundation, Quest 88, St Johns Ambulance, and Smile for a Child. Owen Aiston Chairman of the English Schools FA also came along to the event after being inspired by the Frame Football on show at The FA’s Disability Cup in June.
Throughout the 4 hour event the teams took part in 10 minute games competing to be crowned champions. After fantastic skills on show throughout the age groups the overall winners were:
5-8 age group – Kings Hill
9-12 age group – Hucknall Rolls Royce
13-16 age group – Basildon
The event was a great opportunity to look at the adapted format of football and consult with players, coaches and families on the development of rules and laws of the games.

CP Sports National Adult CP Football League 2018
The National Adult CP football League kicked off in September 2017 with a National cup tournament. Following this monthly fixtures have taken place for the Northern and Southern conference. AT the fixtures the team compete again other each other gaining 3 points for a win, 1 for a draw and 0 for a loss. The Southern conference came to an end in April 2018 with Chelsea Blues claiming first sport and securing their place at the FA’s National Disability Cup Final on the 16th June at Ste Georges Park. Due to serve weather conditions the Northern conference fixtures had to be rearranged with the final fixtures played on Sunday the 13th May. North East and Yorkshire CP secured the points to take first place and secure their place to take on Chelsea blues on June 16th.
All teams that have competed throughout the 2017-18 league have been fantastic, with the level of football continuing to improve. All 8 teams are now looking forward to meeting again at the National Cup Finals on the 2nd June at Nottingham University.
Cerebral Palsy Sport Sport Kick-start event: Cumbria 29th October 2017
On Sunday the 29th October CP Sport delivered a KickStart event in partnership with Cumberland FA. The event is part of a wider project to develop CP football and frame football opportunities across Cumbria.
The event provided local football coaches with the opportunity to learn from CP Sport football coach where they received information on what is Cerebral Palsy, What are the opportunities to play football if you have CP, and how to adapt sessions to make sure they are inclusive. The children and young people who attending the got to take part in fun and challenging football drills and small sided games.
Ray Sempill – Football Development Officer for Inclusion at Cumberland FA stated “The players really enjoyed it and the coaches learned a lot as well as giving them an opportunity to network”.
