Bianka – My Fundraising Story
Bianka lives in The Netherlands and she works for a Township working in the primary and secondary education field for children in the age 0-18 years.
She took up running 6 years ago and said “The feeling after completing my first 5 km race was so great that I kept on racing”.
Her goal was to run a marathon once and she ran the Chicago marathon in 2016 and Bianka reflects of that Chicago Marathon experience – “The feeling when I crossed the finish line is indescribable.”
“I ran Chicago for a local charity and I decided that if I would run another marathon it would be for charity. So here I am, it’s 2017 and I have another challenge: The London marathon in 2018.”
Bianka wants to run the London Marathon because it’s part of the major 6 marathons in the world (Chicago, London, Tokyo, Berlin, New York and Boston.). She completed Chicago Marathon and she wants to conquer the rest. Bianka loves London and is looking forward to running the London Marathon for CP Sport as “It will be amazing to run the streets of London for 42,195 km.”
In the build up to taking on the London Marathon Challenge – Bianka took time out of her training to share her story.
Bianka think the biggest challenge / highlight is to “complete all my training (sometimes you don’t want to train but you have too). The highlight will be when I cross the finish line and see my boyfriend who is always proud of me. “
Bianka is running for Cerebral Palsy Sport as she feels that “Cerebral palsy doesn’t mean you can’t achieve what you want in live. That is so great about this cause that the children are determined to work out together with their friends. “
We are so pleased to have Bianka as part of Team CP Sport and said “I’m very proud to race for CP Sport and make an effort to raise as much money as possible. I wanted to run for a charity that combines sport and children. So CP Sport is the perfect combination.”
