Marcus – My Fundraising Story

A group of 8 of our dedicated and incredible supporters led by Marcus Pemberton are taking on a series of  “Tricky Quests” throughout 2017 to raise funds for Cerebral Palsy Sport.

The group have already taken on a Wolf Run and they have been in training for a whole series of quests this year.

Wolf Run

In June 2017, the group took on a 3km open water swim and returned times between  57 mins and 1 hr 37 mins and everyone completed the swim. Well done to all of you!

Marcus said of their fundraising efforts: “We’re a group of friends who struggle to find enough time to see each other, and also to stay fit! So we decided to complete a number of ‘Tricky Quests’ every year for a good cause, meaning that we make sure that we stay in touch, we have something to train for together, and we raise some money for a great charity. We chose CP Sport as some of us have family members with Cerebral Palsy, and all of us have had our lives enriched by sport, and we’re therefore really proud to know that the money we raise will help children have what we had growing up.”

The group have now completed the Le Marathon du Medoc – “The Longest Marathon in the World” on the 9th September 2017.

Marcus said:

“The marathon was great, as ever we had quite the spread of times but everyone finished, including Ali who tore his patella tendon at mile 3 and still struggled through the remaining 23″

What an incredible achievement!

The theme was Rock n Roll, so in true Tricky Quester’s style, they all ran it dressed as KISS! The pictures speak for themselves!
