Toni – My Fundraising Story
Toni and Richard took part in the Lincoln 5K bubble run on August 27th at 10am at Boultham Park in Lincoln and they ran in aid of Cerebral Palsy Sport
Here is Toni’s story:
“The reason behind us wanting to raise money for cerebral palsy sport is because our beautiful daughter, Izabella. She was born at 32 weeks and as a result she has PVL ( Periventricular leukomalcia) and mild cerebral palsy which affects her legs only.
Watching Izabella having to struggle moving about and not being able to run around with her friends unless she uses her Kaye-Walker (which truly is a god send but still, it does limit her to where she can go and what she can do) it breaks our hearts.
But we are very fortunate that she has alot of support from the nursery she attends, all the medical people involved and fantastic charities like Cerebral Palsy Sport who help children and adults with cerebral palsy.
Rich and I want to help raise awareness and money by doing these runs and to spread the word that anyone with cerebral palsy don’t have to suffer, but can learn new sports and do things they enjoy. Once we’ve completed our first ever 5k run,we plan to do more 5k’s then progress to 10k’s and who knows, one day, the London marathon.

Tony and Richard had an amazing time taking part in the run and Toni said after the run
“It was beautiful weather for it too. We were even asked to have pictures taken with a family while doing the run because their daughter had cp it was so lovely. Made us even prouder to be wearing the CP Sport t-shirts!
Richard and Toni have raised over £370 so a big thank you from all of us at Cerebral Palsy Sport!
