A new quick version of Table Cricket has been introduced called TC20. It can be played 1 v 1 or in
pairs and each innings is played over a 20 ball innings. The new version has been developed to allow for shorter matches
to be played during lunchtimes or after school activity, but it also allows players to challenge their mates who they
usually play with. It's fast and furious, but most importantly its fun!
Teams - TC20 is played in singles or pairs, teams start with 100 runs
Innings length - 20 balls per team (10 balls for each player in pairs)
TC20 Rules:
- The traditional fielding positions are set by the bowling team
- No active side fielders in play in 1 vs 1, one active fielder 2 vs 2.
- The Launcher maybe used as an active fielder to stop the ball as long as the bowler's hand remains in contact with
the Launcher. The Launcher must not be thrown, pushed, rolled etc. Penalty 4 runs.
- If the launcher is used as an active fielder that batter is not out caught and bowled if the ball makes contact with
it - instead a dot ball is recorded and no runs scored.
- If the Launcher is not moved then the usual caught and bowled rules apply
- If the Launcher is moved and ball leaves the table through the gap where the launcher is usually placed, without
making contact with anything else, then 2 runs are scored by the batting team.
- At the half way stage of the innings (after the 10th ball) the bowling side may move any of the side fielding positions
- There is no limit to how many time the Swing Ball can be used
- If the Launcher is not used as an active fielder it must be re-aligned before each delivery (if not the batting side
receive a free hit extra delivery where any runs scored are added to the original delivery - the batting side cannot be out
on a free hit - if they are 'out' then it is treated as a dot ball)
- No balls or wides must be re-bowled if bowled on the last ball of the innings
- Batters cannot score in the same scoring area from consecutives balls (if they hit to the same area no runs are scored
and 'dot' ball is recorded on the score sheet)
- All other rules are in line with the usual Table Cricket rules
- In the event of a tie the team with highest number of 6s are the winners, if still tied the highest number of 4s, then
the team with least wickets lost is the winner. If still tied the team which hit the earliest 6 is the winner. If the
match is still tied a 'Super Over' of six balls is played (3 balls each for pairs). Same rules apply if still tied
(e.g. highest number of 6s etc).
