Sport England funding confirmed

PRESS ANNOUNCEMENT

We are delighted to announce that we have been awarded £266k of National Lottery Funding from Sport England to support our strategic growth plans between October 2014 and September 2017.

Ali Talbot, Chief Executive of Cerebral Palsy Sport said: “We are delighted that this significant investment from Sport England has been confirmed. Over the next three years, this funding will enable us to build on the support we offer children, young people and adults with cerebral palsy to reach their sporting potential through the development of new adapted sports and to build upon our partnerships with National Sports Governing Bodies and other organisations.”

Sport England Chairman, Nick Bitel, said: “The number of disabled people playing sport increased over the last investment period, however, there is still an imbalance that we are keen to rectify.

“This investment is designed for these bodies to align closely with NGBs and integrate the sport on offer to both disabled and non-disabled people, meaning that disabled people who want to play sport can have as much opportunity as possible to do so.”
