Post Paralympic Dinner

POST PARALYMPIC DINNER

Thank you to everyone who attended our Post Paralympic Dinner on Saturday 3rd November 2012 at The Village Hotel, Chilwell, Nottingham.

Over 130 guests enjoyed a delicious three course meal before being entertained by a Q & A session with Paralympic Medallists Nyree Kindred, Bev Jones, Graeme Ballard, Matt Walker and CP Sport’s own Paralympic’s GB coach Phil Peat. Also attending were Games Makers, Paralympic coaches, athletes and swimmers. We also had the honour of hosting to The Right Worshipful the Lord Mayor of Nottingham and The Worshipful the Mayor of The Borough of Broxtowe.

Throughout the evening we heard some wonderful stories of life in the Paralympic village and listened to several top tips to inspire the next generation of potential Paralympians. Finally a ‘legacy baton’ given to Games Makers and CP Sport Volunteer Sue Dunster, was passed round the tables as we pledge to inspire future generations of young athletes.

During the evening there was a raffle with some fantastic prizes including a signed Olympic print, John Lewis vouchers, Team GB top and bottles of wine which raised £500.

Finally a disco was provided by Colin Alderton which carried us into the late hours. Our thanks also go to Sally and Rob Bebbington for three delicious and beautifully decorated cakes; to Sue Dunster for her wonderful flower arrangements and to Maura Frith and Jill Stidever for bringing both the Paralympic and Olympic torches.

It was a great night and even those who had been put through their paces in training earlier in the day enjoyed themselves.
