Cerebral Palsy Sport, in partnership with Swim Wales are pleased to announce it will be are running a Swimming Development Gala on 15th April 2017.
The Gala will be held at Merthyr Tdfil Leisure Centre, CF48 IUT from 12.30-4.30pm.
Our Galas’s are aimed at developing swimmers, who have some experience of the aquatic environment, and offer an excellent introduction to competitive swimming. They are friendly, supportive and realistic with a starter, timekeepers, heats and staggered timed finals. If necessary a swimmer can be accompanied by a parent or enabler – and swimming aids are permitted.
The aim is to provide swimmers the opportunity to socialise with other swimmers with cerebral palsy, experience the excitement of competitive swimming and test their new skills without the formal structure of club events. Races take place over 10, 25, and 50 metres using a variety of strokes, with medals and certificated awarded.
Booking is required, and the Gala’s are popular events so don’t delay – the cost for full Cerebral Palsy Sport members is £7.50, and for non – members £10. Closing date for booking – Friday 31st March 2017 (or earlier if becomes fully booked).
